Launched in 2013. . .
Lyons Volunteers (LoV) joined LEAF in 2020. The Volunteers have provided countless services for many people and for the entire community since they launched in 2013 following the flood.
Lyons Volunteers bring willing hands, plenty of experience and skill, and hearts to serve! The team provided over 3000 hours of volunteer service, adding nearly $100,000 in value to our community, last year.
How Can We Help?
- Provide labor and expertise for projects. Recent examples include installing grab bars and prepping garden spaces for aging adults and clearing brush to mitigate fire risk
- Continued flood recovery work
- The Weed Posse works each year during the growing season to eradicate noxious weeds without the use of chemicals or herbicides
- Lead styrofoam and scrap metal recycling, plus Christmas tree disposal
- Lead beautification projects in our parks and the Botanic Garden
- Create parade floats that entertain and enchant the community during holiday parades
- And more!
