Unbridled You: Helping Youth Slow Down, Connect, and Grow

LEAF, in collaboration with Dancing Spirit Equine Facilitated Learning & Coaching, will offer Unbridled YOU: Self-Discovery Through Horses, Art, and Nature for local youth.

Today’s young people are growing up in a world filled with constant pressure, comparison, uncertainty, and noise. Many youth are navigating stress while trying to figure out who they are, where they belong, and how to stay connected to themselves in the process. At LEAF, we believe young people deserve spaces where they can slow down, breathe, feel supported, and explore who they are without pressure to perform.

Unbridled YOU was created with that intention in mind.

This four-session experiential program blends intentional interactions with horses, creative art activities, small group experiences, and time outdoors in nature to foster emotional wellbeing, confidence, and connection. Rather than focusing on performance or perfection, the program emphasizes authenticity, self-awareness, healthy relationships, and personal growth.

Horses have a unique ability to help people become more aware of their emotions, communication patterns, boundaries, and energy. Combined with nature-based experiences and creative expression, this program offers youth an opportunity to build life skills through hands-on learning and meaningful connection.

Throughout the series, participants will:

  • Practice healthy boundaries and communication
  • Strengthen emotional awareness and regulation
  • Build confidence and self-trust
  • Learn tools for navigating challenges with resilience and authenticity
  • Experience connection with peers in a supportive, judgment-free environment

At LEAF, we believe meeting youth where they are means creating opportunities for connection before crisis, belonging before isolation, and growth through relationships and shared experiences. We’re thrilled to collaborate with three amazing facilitators and local business owners, Jackie Hibbard, Christine Saunders, and Kelsie Foster, LPC, ATR-BC.
